Air Max 270,Collaborations galore have been surfacing between UNDEFEATED and Nike (NYSE:NKE -0.24%) this Spring, and after showing off its snakeskin-covered Dunk Low makeup, the two parties also appear to be beefing up its impending “Dunk vs AF1” Pack with an Air Force 1 Low “Ballistic” installment. This particular makeup is heavily influenced by the streetwear stalwart’s friends and family Dunk High collab that initially surfaced 2003 in celebration of the opening of UNDEFEATED‘s second store.
Releasing as a direct nod to the Undefeated x Nike Dunk High “Ballistic” that released back in 2013, the Nike Air Force 1 Low will now feature that same makeover in 2021. Calling for a military olive green mesh and leather build, mesh covers the panelings as leather handles the overlay system. Black is then used on the Nike Swoosh logos on the sides, the lacing system, lower ankle Undefeated logo, and the Nike Air Force 1 branded heels. Finalizing the military-inspired rendition, an aged rubber midsole is placed at the bottoms while a black rubber outsole finishes off the new variation.
The Air Jordan 1 Low Gold Toe boast a full patent leather upper dressed in a familiar white, gold, and black. Apart from the cut, the only differences from the high-top version arrive on the tongue and heel — the former of which features tonal embroidered hits, while the latter offers a black ball-and-wings logo on its precious metal-accented base. A white midsole and black outsole then complete the look. What truly sets these AJ1 Lows apart from their other color-borrowing counterparts, however, is the aforementioned materials. Most Lows trade in the High’s full leather construction for nubuck overlays, but this pair keeps it patent leather all the way, ensuring the signature feel is not diminished one bit.
