Screws and bolts can both give a secure hold in fastening operations. still, these fasteners aren't the same. generally tone- tapping, a screw features a spiral groove wrapped around a shaft. The vestments of the screw mate with the material it's turned through to hold the screw in place. A bolt, on the other hand, isn't tone- tapping and requires a nut to stay secure.
